Does the sand show height or actual remaining time?
The upper sand area matches the remaining-time fraction and the lower area matches elapsed time. Its triangular shape is scaled by area, not just height.
Will a countdown restart automatically at zero?
No. A countdown stops at zero and stays completed. To run it again, press Restart yourself; switching pages or refreshing does not start another run.
Will alerts sound if my device sleeps?
Timing catches up from timestamps when the browser resumes. Audio can be delayed or blocked while suspended; keep the page open and the device awake for important alerts.
