What happens to the candle when I pause?
Wax height holds at the remaining-time fraction and the flame stops moving. At zero the flame goes out. The illustration is a timer, not a real candle simulation.
Will a countdown restart automatically at zero?
No. A countdown stops at zero and stays completed. To run it again, press Restart yourself; switching pages or refreshing does not start another run.
Will alerts sound if my device sleeps?
Timing catches up from timestamps when the browser resumes. Audio can be delayed or blocked while suspended; keep the page open and the device awake for important alerts.
